Asia N. McCallum

High School: 

Asia McCallum is ranked number one in her graduating class at Forest Park High School. She is motivated, persistent and a self-starter. She is the founder and president of The Optimistic Party a youth-led independent party that encourages students to be more involved with Baltimore City Public Schools. Asia created a business where she markets large jumbo cookies to museums. She won spot in the Network for Teaching Entrepreneur Program (NFTE) national competition to pitch her business plan for a chance to win $25,000 to fund her idea. For her efforts she received a Youth Business Award from the Mayors Office of Minority and Women Business Development. Asia also serves in a leadership role in her school, as a Youth Ambassador for Volunteer Nation and the Editor-in-Chief for her school newspaper. Asia is passionate about theater and production design and plans to pursue both in college. She is an active member of the Center Stage Theater Encounter and the Hippodrome Theater Young Critics.
