Nakia Green is a native of Baltimore City and product of the Baltimore City public schools. A graduate of the former Northern High School, Nakia received her B.A. in History at Clark Atlanta University and her M.A. in African American Studies from Morgan State University. Working with high school students is nothing new for Nakia. While at Clark Atlanta, she was a four-year volunteer with the Atlanta Metro Urban Young Life Organization, ministering and mentoring youth in Decatur, Georgia. Nakia is a former CollegeBound Scholar and recipient of a Last Dollar Grant. She currently serves within her church as a member of the Bishop Harrison James Bryant Scholarship Committee. In addition, Nakia has recently rejoined the Baltimore City Young Life Organization as a volunteer leader, working with middle school youth in west Baltimore through outreach ministry. She has had the opportunity to work as a CollegeBound specialist in several high schools, advising a diverse population within city schools. Nakia is passionate about education and believes there is great potential in Baltimore’s youth.
